!!Hello hello, welcome to this housekeeping issue!!!
Contrary to my rate of output here, I think about you all the time (yes, in that way). I just don’t really know how to write a full post every week.
Through experimentation On My Own Time™ I determined my brain power to be at around 1.3 thoughts per day on average. Compared to an average adult that has about 1.3 thoughts per minute this is not much. But we have to work with what we’ve got, so I decided to test run writing in short form to better suit my limited processing power.
I have lined up 5 short posts about Nothing In Particular (read: whatever random subject my mind went to) to come out from next Monday to Friday at 8am GMT. In some ways they are very much like my usual content, just small. In other ways they are like: wow who is she? because they will come out consistently every day. Very novel concept here at are you mad at me? (formerly known as lissen!) I’m scared, hold me.
To be fully honest with you I’ve been processing some big feelings lately, and I think sharing a routine with someone would be helpful. Maybe you’re the same as me and enjoy your breakfast with a side of a little human connection. Maybe we can think about nothing in particular together. I know “morning” for some of you will be hours from when I’ve set for these posts to go live, but it’s the thought that counts, something something.
Also I realised I really miss having work friends. This is normally who I’d have these random conversations with. You know, before. Please, be my work friends (turned friends-friends, of course).
If you’re prepared to bear with me for a week of short daily posts you don’t need to do anything at all. If you don’t think we’re close enough for me to be sending you daily e-mails (ouch) then you can change your settings in the Manage your subscription settings here on Substack:
I’m warning you in advance so you have time to toggle the notifications off!

You can also do the opposite and (if you aren’t yet) subscribe to lissen! which automatically will opt you into these emails, and sometimes, even more.
The initial commitment is for a week only, but as you might be catching on I might as well spill the beans - I’m thinking of making Monday-Friday daily short form a regular exercise. I will be sending them out to your homepage feed also, and they will all be together in the morning coffee section in lissen!, in case you happen to try look for them.
Be well, drink water, all that stuff,
Ani ❁

Update No1.
I’m being optimistic pessimistic realistic in numbering the update. I know that I’m probably going to need to convolute this further. Just allow it.
I decided to continue the series and produce another week of morning coffee posts. Full disclosure, I fully meant to start on Monday, the 9th of October, but couldn’t get my brain to be all in the same place long enough to sufficiently plan and schedule things over the weekend.
So I’m starting on a Wednesday, what are you gonna do about it? I haven’t decided yet what to do about the weekend so inconveniently placed in the middle of my Wednesday to Wednesday workweek. It will be a surprise for us both.
Til next one,
Ani ❁
Update No2.
We’re back, and it’s a whole new year. What can I say, consistency is not my strong suit. Sue me (actually don’t).
Being able to post short form posts from the app directly made me want to try a slightly different approach to the format. I will be coming to you straight from my phone.
Let’s see how we do.
